| Born in New York City, she studied at the University of Denver and earned a BFA from the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts. She has done much commission work of installations including for A.T.& T. and the Marina Bank in Chicago. She has been a visiting artist in numerous places including the University of Iowa, the Kalamazoo Art Institute in Michigan, and the University of Illinois in Chicago.
In 1992, she was commissioned by Carlsbad, California city officials to create an installation for a beachfront area. She did "Split Pavilion" on a wedge of open space that had two pavilions of pillars, benches, a trellis and reflecting pools. But business owners complained that it blocked their view of the Pacific Ocean, and others found the image too urban for a small town. The public then voted to have it removed. |
