This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Antal Berkes (Budapest 1874 - Budapest 1938)
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts between 1889-1894. First he was painting mainly landscapes, later on, he was making street scenes of Pest. Later on he changed to "mass production" meeting the requirements of the art-dealers of his age. His painting Hungarian Street can be seen in the Hungarian National Gallery.
