| Antoine Bittar (1957)
Antoine Bittar is a well known Canadian painter.
Cairo, Egypt is his birthplace; since 1962, Montreal, Quebec has been his home.
His mediums are oil, watercolor and gouache*. His subjects are genre*, landscape, marine scenes, beaches, figures, cityscapes and street scenes. His style is Impressionism*. AskART have some good illustrations of his work.
Bittar is a self-taught artist. He has travelled extensively; his painting locations, in addition to Canada and the USA , include Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba, Italy, France, Holland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Malta, Tunisia, Morocco, Thailand and Nepal.
He has been painting fulltime since 1981; and has had numerous group and solo exhibitions. The venues include many prominent Canadian commercial galleries such as Kastel Gallery, Montreal; Galerie D'art Vincent, Ottawa; Kaspar Gallery, Toronto and Winchester Galleries, Victoria, B.C.
His works are frequently traded on the Canadian auction market; and they’re in many private and corporate collections.
