| | Born on Sept. 24, 1902 in Horepnik, Czechoslovakia. Blazek came to the U.S. with his family in 1907. After studying at the Maryland Institute of Art, he moved to Los Angeles in 1931. During the Depression he worked for the Federal Art Project. He was a resident of Desert Hot Springs during his final years. A successful artist for fifty years, he died in Loma Linda, CA on Jan. 9, 1974.
