| | Born on May 17, 1877 in Massachusetts. After studying in NYC at the ASL, Barrelle spent six years apprenticed to muralists Edwin Blashfield and Robert Bloom, and sculptor Augustus St Gaudens. Upon moving to southern California in 1924, he established a studio in the Mission Inn in Riverside. There he taught painting, illustrating, clay modeling, craft work, and drawing.
