| A painter and teacher who was born and lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, Benjamin Brantly was known for landscapes, murals, and portraits including paintings of Supreme Court justices that are at the Pulaski County Courthouse Museum of Fine Arts.
He studied at the Maryland Institute and the St. Louis School of Fine Arts, he continued to be active in St. Louis as well as Little Rock. He exhibited with the New Orleans Art Association, the St. Louis Artist League, the Southern States Art League, and the Arkansas State Fair---all in the 1920s,
