| Bernice Breck (1905-1990)
Born March 22, 1905 in Portland, Maine, she was a graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Portland. Breck took summer classes in Eastport, under the late George Pearse Ennis. She was the Secretary of Portland Society of Art and registrar of the School of Fine and Applied Art in Portland.
In the book titled Portland City Guide which was a WPA project printed in 1940, she is mentioned several times. The first time is in the preface where she is mentioned as "from the L.D.M. Sweat Memorial Art Museum." Then in the book on page 138 it reads: "The works of Rosamond Gray and Bernice Breck were shown in the National Exhibition of American Art at Rockefeller Center in New York; Miss Breck has exhibited water colors at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts." Bernice Breck died January 28, 1990 in Portland Maine.
