| Born in Burlington, IA on Dec. 10, 1913. Bloomer moved to California in 1936 and studied at the Art Center in Los Angeles. For 35 years he was a staff artist at the Fresno Bee. Following service in the Navy in WWII, he maintained a studio in San Diego for four years before returning to the Bee. After retiring from advertising art in 1979, Bloomer continued to paint, exhibit, and act as juror for art shows in and around his home in Fresno. Working in the realist tradition, he specialized in (showing 500 of 808 characters). |
