| Carl A. Beck was born in California on November 24, 1893. Beck was a pupil of George Bridgman at the Art Students League in New York. By 1921 he had returned to California and became active with the San Francisco Art Ass’n while manufacturing cigars. He died in San Francisco on June 25, 1969.
