This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| The following is from the artist:
Born in Ft. Myers, Florida in 1972, Chad Beatty, like most artists, had an inclination towards the skill of rendering from an early age. It was not until his college years at the University of Florida that he fixed his mind on the possibility of art as a career.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995, with honors, he began working as a designer of home accessories in Fort Myers using the ceramic skills that he acquired at the university. While building up his skills as a designer/ceramicist, he was working commissions for oil paintings and portraiture out of Naples, Florida and building up his own personal portfolio.
In 1998, he moved to Miami, doing ceramic/pottery design work in conjunction with Ceramics-N-More of Santa Ana, California as well as doing commission work as an oil painter and illustrator.
Out of a desire to view life from a different perspective, in November of 2000 he took up the invitation by his brother, to move to Hutchinson, Kansas and continue his art there. He worked as a senior graphic designer at a large graphics company in Kansas, and continued freelance work in oils, charcoal, graphite and ceramic throughout his career.
Chad Beatty has become known for his surreal and sometimes fantastical landscapes as well as his photo-realistic portraiture. The themes he deals with in his landscapes often focus around larger truths in life.
Chad moved from Kansas to Florida, where he resides.
