This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| From New Orleans, Charles Badger, Sr. was an engraver, marble cutter,
and designer. As an engraver, he was listed in 1886 as being in
business with J.F. Birchmeier, and as a marble designer, in business in
1911 with F.G. Birchmeier.
In the 1890s, he was with the Washington Marble Works, and then to
1911, several marble companies owned by the Birchmeiers. In 1931,
he was an engraver with Samuel Gately Marble & Granite Works.
