| | Born in New Brunswick, Canada in 1838, the son of architect Samuel C. Bugbee (1812-1877). About 1850 the Bugbee family established an architectural office in Boston. In 1862 the family settled in San Francisco and continued in architecture. Many of the elaborate homes on Nob Hill were of their design including the Stanford, Tobin, and Crocker mansions. Bugbee died in Oakland, CA on Jan. 3, 1880. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1864, 1865.
