| | Born in Marshville, OH on May 18, 1878. Baker settled in Oakland in 1916. He worked as a lighting counselor for the northern California Electrical Bureau while painting in his leisure. He was a close friend of Paul Schmitt with whom he made many painting excursions in a large Studebaker along the backroads of California from Mt Shasta to San Diego.
