The following, submitted December 2004, is from David Rain, whose uncle was the life partner of the artist.
Clinton Brown, in later years painted under the name of Michael Clinton.
He died in 1954 in New York, where he spent much of his adulthood.
In New York he was known as a portrait painter, and he went regularly to the Bahama Islands, where he painted many small landscapes and seascapes, and private houses and gardens.
In the late 1940's he moved to San Francisco (showing 500 of 2485 characters). |
