| | Born in St Louis, MO on Nov. 18, 1871. Cora was a great granddaughter of Daniel Boone. She arrived in California with her family in 1876 and settled in San Francisco. After her art studies at the Mark Hopkins Institute, she further studied in Paris and at the Central Arts & Crafts School in London (1912-13). After returning from London, she became an art supervisor in the Oakland public schools and also taught in Danville and Benicia until 1935. She specialized in watercolors of flowers, elm trees, and coastal scenes; and after studying the techniques of block printing from Wm S. Rice, became highly competent with that medium. Her early watercolors are representational in the traditional style; her later works more modern. She died in Oakland on Dec. 7, 1953. Member: SFAA; SF Women Artists.
