| Dale Benedict was born on a farm in Brookville, Indiana in 1932. He departed this life on September 8, 2002. He was a painter of nature; an observer of the seasons.
His formal training began in 1956 at the Central Academy of Commercial Art under the prominent Western painter Jackson Grey Storey. In 1967 he was elected a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and served as its president from 1981 to 1983. Dale spent the first twenty years of his art career working in watercolors and was a member of the Ohio Watercolor Society. For three consecutive years his watercolors appeared at the juried Nature Interpreted exhibits at the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History. He was a versatile painter who went on to capture in acrylics and oils beautiful country roads, winter fields or the brilliance of an autumn day.
Dale is most known in Cincinnati for his original paintings Cincinnati-The Queen City, The Delta Queen vs. the Belle of Louisville, the Island Queen, and The Tyler Davidson Fountain.
