| | Born in Wadsworth, OH on April 20, 1860. Baughman arrived in southern California in 1900. During his first years he was a guide for goat hunters on Catalina Island. While there, he built Eagle’s Nest Lodge for the Banning brothers. He soon settled in Los Angeles where he worked as an interior decorator until his death on Dec. 13, 1923.
