| The following, submitted October 2005, is from the artist.
Dave Bown, whose focus as a painter is color theory, grew up in New York, Columbus and Boston. He received a
Congressional nomination to the United States Military Academy at West
Point, New York by a New York Congressman.
Bown resided in Cali and
Medellin, Colombia for a few years after he conducted research in East
Africa, Europe and Poland. He earned the Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree with an emphasis in sculpture from Brigham Young University.
Exhibition venues include the Fournos Centre for Digital Culture in Athens, Greece;
the Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton, New York; the Holter Museum of Art
in Helena, Montana; the Stone Town Cultural Center in Zanzibar, the
Berkeley Art Center in Berkeley, California and the Brooklyn
Waterfront Artists Coalition in Brooklyn, New York.
Bown recently founded and directs Dave Bown Projects, a formal
international campaign dedicated to the advancement of his art agenda
and philanthropic efforts.
