Biography from American Design Ltd.:
| Born in 1954, David Bradley grew up in Minnesota and is an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Indian Tribe.
After
traveling widely and working with the Peace Corp in Central America and
the Caribbean, he returned to school earning a B.A. in Fine Arts from
the College of Santa Fe in 1980. He then was admitted to the
Elaine Horwitch Galleries as their youngest artist.
David is a
painter, sculptor and printmaker whose work has been included in
numerous traveling exhibitions through the US, Canada, Latin America
and Europe.
Over the years Bradley has dedicated a large
portion of his time and energy to social causes, which improve life for
Indian people, often having to take leadership positions, sometimes at
the expense of his own career. Some of these positions have
included Vice President and Co-founder of the Native American Artists
Association; board member of the Southwestern Association of Indian
Art; member of the artists planning committee for the Smithsonian’s
Nation Museum of the American Indian and many more.
David works
in a variety of media and styles from landscapes and figurative works
to abstract collages and conceptual work. He sculpts primarily in
marble, limestone and African wonder stone and has a number of limited
edition bronze sculptures.
