Oakland based artist Dean Byington began his career creating photo
collages by projecting old daguerrotypes piecemeal on to canvases
painted with photo emulsion.
Today, the 1988 graduate (MFA) of the University of California at
Berkeley, creates dense fantasy landscapes using a collage, silkscreen
and painting process. Byington cuts and pastes images from
old engravings onto paper and connects them with his own drawing and
painting to create savage landscapes with fa (showing 500 of 712 characters). |
