| Dean Brennan was born in Emmett, Idaho in 1928 and moved to Alaska in 1956 where he began painting Alaskan scenes. He was a Supervisory Illustrator for the U.S. Army and also held a Bachelor's of Fine Art from the California College of Arts and Crafts and a teaching certificate. His work has been shown at the Bureau of Commerce in Washington D.C. as well as in Philadelphia, Hawaii, and the Fur Rendezvous show held in Anchorage, Alaska in 1961.
