| Dorothy Hunter Brown was born on November 11th, 1888 in Providence, Rhode Island. S he studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where she graduated in 1912. She taught painting at RISD from 1925-1927. She also taught at the Wheeler School. Her works were primarily watercolor, still-life, and portraits of children. She passed away on January 24th, 1942.
