| Associate Professor of Art at the University of California, Los Angeles, from 1945, Dorothy Brown was born in Houston, Texas, and settled in California, living in Malibu. She studied at Stanford University and earned a BA at the University of California. She exhibited throughout California including in San Francisco, San Diego, and the Los Angeles area, and she was a member of the California Watercolor Society. She was also Director of the campus art gallery.
Her work is at the La Jolla Art Center and the UCLA collection.
