| | Born in Oakland, CA on Dec. 17, 1899. After graduating from Lick School in San Francisco, Brown studied at the CCAC. He then worked in San Francisco from the 1920s as a freelance artist and further studied at the AIC for three years. From 1951 until retirement in 1965 he worked at Schmidt Lithography in San Francisco. He then carved oak wine casks and doors for Sebastiani Winery and painted watercolors in his leisure. He died at his home in Glen Ellen, CA on Aug. 31, 1984.
