Biography from AskART:
| Born on a farm in central Missouri, Edward Patrick Byrnes made his first foray into art-making with the painted chickens and horses with which he decorated the walls of his outbuildings and barn.
Byrne did not start to make drawings and paintings until 1966, when he began a series of modest-sized works based on photographs from newspaper real estate advertisements. Byrne transforms buildings into bold, abstract designs of saturated color that reference the endless planes of Missouri.
