| The following is from Rodney R. Schildan, who got the information directly from the artist's daughter a few years ago.
ELEANOR BELL (1914-1995) Born in New York City, Bell received a B.A. from Smith College in 1934. In the mid 1930's, she studied with George Grosz and Charles Locke at the Art Students League in New York City, and studied privately with Jean Charlot.
After raising a family she resumed showing her paintings in the early 1970's in and around Washington D.C. Bell moved to France in 1983, where she was accepted for numerous juried shows.
