| Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Electra Biggs became a sculptor of portraits of well-known persons including Presidents Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower, and celebrity Will Rogers.
She studied at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and Columbia University in New York City and in 1932, when she was age 20, she studied sculpture in Paris and worked there in a foundry. She also studied in Boston with Arnold Geissbuhler.
In 1942, she married Lieutenant-Colonel John Biggs, and they lived in Washington DC and for the remainder of her life in Texas, dividing their time between Fort Worth and her family ranch in Vernon.
Texas State College for Women awarded Bigga an honorary degree in 1951. Exhibition venues include the Salon D'Automne in Paris, Seligmann Gallery in New York, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC, and Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, Texas.
