This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Paris, France on Jan. 20, 1869, the daughter of Charles F. Eaton. Raised in an artistic milieu, Elizabeth was an apt pupil of her father’s.

Formerly of New York, the Eaton family settled in Santa Barbara, CA in 1886. Shortly thereafter, Elizabeth married Wm W. Burton. In 1909 she opened a studio in the Blanchard Bldg in Los Angeles.  During 1920 she further studied in Paris.  In 1933 she returned to Los Angeles after a two-year tour and exhibitions in Peking, Shanghai, London, and NYC.

A versatile artist and an exponent of Arts and Crafts, she made color woodcuts, watercolors, book bindings, and stained glass.

Mrs. Burton died in Los Angeles on Nov. 15, 1937.
