Esther R. Bacon, a noted artist and interior decorator, was born July 20, 1895 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Christian Lewis and Charlotte (Landgraf) Richmann.
She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago and was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. While in Chicago, she worked as an illustrator for several publishing companies and was also employed by Marshall Field's as an interior decorator. She decorated many buildings including the Drake Hotel and The Chicago Theate (showing 500 of 1033 characters). |
