Biography from AskART:
| Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ethel Brown became a painter and teacher in Chicago, where from 1941 to 1946, she taught at the Hyde Park Art Club. She was a member of the Chicago Art Club and the Chicago Women Artist Salon. She also exhibited at the Philadelphia Academy of Art.
She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago with Edmund Griesbert and Increase Robinson. Her work is at the Culver Military Academy.
