| | Born in NYC on March 18, 1889. Byrnes' cartoon series "Things That Never Happen" was in California papers in 1915, and his comic strip "Reg'lar Fellows" was nationally syndicated. While on the Monterey Peninsula in the 1930s, he was active in the art scene in Carmel.
