A modernist painter whose work includes nude subjects and collage,
Francisco Benitez was born in Taos, New Mexico. He has exhibited
primarily in New Mexico galleries and in 1991 won First Price at the
Annual Hispanic Art Fair in Albuquerque. In 1998 and 1999, he
also exhibited at Chase Gallery in Boston.
He attended St.
John's College in Santa Fe from 1985 to 1987, the Art Student's League
in New York from 1987 to 1988, and then earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts
