| An illustrator for Harper Brothers and caricaturist for magazines, Frank Bellew was born in India and came to New York City in 1850. In 1866, he wrote a book called The Art of Amusing.
His son, Frank P.W. Bellew, was an illustrator for Life magazine.

Added note: He was known as The Triangle, after the symbol he used to sign his work. His son, Frank P.W. Bellew (1862-1894) was know as Chip, as in Chip off the old block.
