This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Emigrating to America between 1796 and 1799, Frederick Bischoff settled in Reading, Pennsylvania and until his death in 1834, was a painter of portraits, miniatures, silhouettes and butterflies and also did fraktur decoration. One of his silhouette portraits, Captain De B. Keim, shown wearing boots and holding a large hat, was the first painting in the Berks County Historical Society Collection, donated in 1904.

As a fraktur artist, Bischoff is documented as having created a birth and baptismal certificate of watercolor and ink on paper for Anna Maria Stauffer in 1808 in Reading, Pennsylvania.  The description reads: "Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered; printed form. The main text in Fraktur within a heart is in the center of the document. The two verses in Fraktur within hearts are beneath it. From their tops protrude leafy branches. Two birds are sitting on them. In the upper center is a mermaid holding a hand mirror, and in the upper corners are two flowers. In the lower center are two tulips."

The Bibliography reference for the Fraktur information refers to "F.T. Ebbecke" as the title of a book, without explanation of the relationship to Bischoff.

This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A descendant of the artist--- great, great, great granddaughter--- suggests that because of a mix-up at a cemetery, an artist named F.T. Ebbecke is likely but not proven to be the same person as Frederick Christopher Bischoff.
