| Born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 21, 1863. Behre worked in Berkeley for Hubert Howe Bancroft as an artist-designer for a few years. By 1888 he was a resident of Pasadena and active in the local art scene. During the late 1890s he collaborated on a painting of Mission San Juan Capistrano with Gutzon Borglum. Behre died in Los Angeles on March 10, 1942. His rare oils are mostly still lifes. Member: : Artists League of So. Calif. (founder, 1893). Exh: GGIE, 1939. In: Orange Co.
