| | Born in Vallejo, CA on Aug. 8, 1866. Gertrude Snow settled in Alameda with her family in 1875. As a teenager she ferried to San Francisco where she studied at the School of Design under Virgil Williams. After her marriage she established a studio in Alameda in her home at 1813 Alameda Avenue. A highly skilled painter, her rare works include small oils of the redwoods, still lifes, Chinatown and scenes of the San Francisco Bay area. Mrs. Brooks died in Alameda, CA on Feb. 7, 1947.
