A portrait painter, she was married to Edwin Howard Blashfield, whom she survived. In 1935, she and her husband donated his painting The Angel with the Flaming Sword, painted in Paris in 1890-1891 and shown at the Salon of 1891, at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, and the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901, to the Church of the Ascension in New York City. His In the House of the Carpenter was lent to the church in 1939 and became the church’s property at the death of the artist’s widow in 1947.
