Guido Rinaldo Borghi
1903-1971

Borghi was born in Locarno, Switzerland and studied in Europe before immigrating to the United States where he settled in New York City and New Jersey.  His subject matter includes landscapes, portraiture, animal studies and industrial marine themes created along the Jersey shore.

His extensive exhibition history includes the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, the National Academy of Design, the Nicholas Roerich Museum, Salons of America, Society of Independent Artists, Municipal Art Gallery, all New York City; The Yonkers Museum and others.

Mural commissions include Lexington School, NYC, Minidoka County Grange, Idaho, East River Savings Bank and Rockefeller Center Bank, NY.

His teaching positions included Technical Director, Hall of Art in NYC, Art Instructor for the Shell Oil Art Classes, Recreational Art & Sculpture Classes, Radio City, NY.

After years of visiting the Bronx Zoo where he produced numerous paintings, drawings and sculptures, Borghi co-founded the Society of Animal Artists with Patricia Allen Bott in 1960.
