Hans Becker, born in Berlin in 1930, paints landscape scenes rooted in
the style of Impressionism and in mood, intended to suggest
tranquility. Becker is fueled by the desire to capture on canvas
the transient, joyful moods of life, joie-de-vivre.
His landscapes suggest 'by-gone' days, such as figures strolling along
the banks of a sparkling lake, a billowing white sail reflecting the
day’s last rays of golden light, a woman standing on a graveled path in
a flower-filled garden, or the glowing street lamps of a busy boulevard
by night.
