This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Harry Martin Book, a Pennsylvania-Dutch landscape painter and art instructor, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and was raised and educated in Millersville, Pennsylvania. He resided in nearby Lancaster Township.

He was a 1924 Graduate of Millersville Normal School, and earned a BA in Education degree from Pennsylvania State College in 1929 and a Master's Degree of art from Columbia University. As an art instructor, he served the local school district for 35 years and retired as art supervisor. He painted landscape scenes from the Lancaster area, the Chesapeake Bay area, New England and Florida.
