The following information was submitted in August of 2006 by Mrs. Geraldine Robertson Burns, wife of the artist. 

Harvey Wallace Burns 1902- 1991

He studied with Pierre Rochard, graduate of Escole De Beau Arts in Paris; he was very versatile; at age 17, he was hired to provide art posters for Hollywood movie studios; painted many movie stars portraits for lobbies "Coming Attraction" posters; sold paintings to California government offices; taught in Texas for a franchaise movie distributor; sold paintings to movie set designers suitable for the theme of the movie; painted landscapes, portraits, animals, seascapes; greeting card art for Harold's Book Publishing; he also did oriental, brush-work style; he won honorable mention from: Texas Radio & Stock Art Show; City of Long Beach Art Show; Orange County Fair; Fort Worth Texas Industrial Art Show; Tulare County Fair; Hollywood Lobby Artists Show; did work for Paramount and Universal Studios; he won three silver cups and one gold cup from the Industrial Designers Show; member of Long Beach Spectrum Club; sold paintings to Union Square Art Gallery, San Francisco and Lyns Art Gallery, San Francisco.

Born in California on Jan. 5, 1902. Burns was a commercial artist by 1921 and a resident of Long Beach in 1936. He died in Santa Cruz, CA on Nov. 16, 1991.
