This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| The following, submitted January 2005, is from Amy Huntington whose source is the printed artist's card, which was attached to a painting she owns by the artist.
Helen Botway first studied painting at the Worcester Art School in Massachusetts, and later, after some work at Columbia University, continued her studies at l'Ecole Fontainbleu in France. Previous exhibitions of her colorful sunlit oils have appeared at the New York City Center Gallery, the National Arts Club, and at Southhampton's Parrish Museum. She won first prize at the 1966 and 1967 Westhampton Art Shows. Her impressionistic art shows the influence of her residence in Mediterranean countries as well as in the Hamptons along our own Atlantic Coastline and her nostalgic concentration of "shore line" paintings of dunes, beaches and old boathouses have found great favor among art collectors.
