| Henry Howard Brooks was born in Bedford , MA near Boston. In 1937, he lived at the famed Fenway Studios in Boston, a complex reserved for artists. While in Boston, he was a student and a friend of noted artist, William Paxton. He was a member of the Guild of Boston Artists and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the Corcoran Gallery in Washington , DC (1937) among other places.
Brooks came to Provincetown to paint with his friend Ives Gammel and eventually retired to Cape Cod . His works show his clean crisp style and strong use of color.
