| Born in New York City, Irving Block was a painter and muralist who settled in Studio City, California. He earned a B.S. Degree from New York University and also studied at the National Academy of Design and in Paris at Grande Chaumiere.
He exhibited with the California Watercolor Society and was a professor of art in Northridge at California State University. He completed a mural for the American Medical Building for the 1937 World's Fair and also for the United States Treasury Department.

| Born in New York on Dec. 2, 1910. Block worked in Hollywood during the 1950s doing special effects on dozens of low-budget horror films. From 1964 to 1980 he was professor of art at California State University, Northridge. He died in Hollywood on May 3, 1986. Exh: Calif.
