James Alphege Brewer (c.1882-1938)
“Painter and etcher. Son of the artist H. W. Brewer and brother of H. C. Brewer, R.I. Exhibited at the R.A., R.I., Paris Salon. Alphege was born in London around 1882 and raised there but moved to Paris, where he lived most of his professional career. He was especially successful drawing architectural views of the great cathedrals of Britain and Europe, especially France. Much of his work was printed by Alfred Bell & Co.”
