|  A painter born in Arcadia, Nebraska, Jean Jesse Baker had an art career in California, where by age 13, she was listed in the City Directory of Los Angeles. She was a member of the Women Painters of the West, the Los Angeles Art League and the Laguna Beach Art Association.
Jean Jesse Baker was also a poet, and violinist.
