This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Jeffrey Smart Baisden discovered Prismacolor pencils while searching for affordable art materials for her high school classroom. The artist began using the pencils for her own artwork and enjoyed their versatility.
Baisden's artwork forces the viewer to reexamine an object or space that one usually takes for granted. The artist often strives for photo realism in her work and she often achieves it.
Baisden is married to artist-sculptor Charles Baisden.
