This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Jerrold Ballaine attended the University of Washington, Art Center School in Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Art Institute, B.F.A., 1960; M.F.A. 1961. He taught at the University of California, Berkeley, 1966 - 1994 and in 1971 he was awarded the Creative Arts Institute grant, 1974-1975. Ballaine was acting director of the University Art Museum and in 1980 was awarded the Humanities Research Fellowship.

He makes his home in Sebastopol, California
