| Attended Phillips Univ., Enid, OK. After graduation, he worked in commercial illustration and taught high school art in Emporia and other Midwestern schools. Brother’s began a master's degree program at the Univ. of Kansas, Lawrence. Lived in Oregon and Washington before returning to Lawrence in the 1970s.
Exhibitions: World's Fair, 1992; Paris Air Show, 1993; Sculpture in the Park in Loveland, CO. Awards: Akeley Medallion for Excellence, 1987; Kansas Governor’s Art Award, 2003.

Born in Kansas in 1942, Jim Brothers is a figurative sculptor of rare achievement. He is the sculptor of six monumental bronzes for the National D-Day Memorial in Virginia and is also the sculptor for the National VFW Memorial in Washington, D.C.
In addition, Jim has executed monuments for the cities of Los Angeles, Hartford, Kansas City and Seville, Spain.
