| | Born in Cedarville, NJ on Feb. 14, 1877. Bateman studied at the Pennsylvania School of Industrial Art, PAFA, Académie Colarossi in Paris, and with A. Stirling Calder and Charles Grafly. He was supervisor of sculpture at the PPIE during 1914-15 and then taught at the CCAC in 1916-17. He was a resident of Haddonfield, NJ in 1940. Member: NSS; AFA; SFAA.
